Michael and Els Schutte moved from the Netherlands to Canada 13 years ago, bringing with them a rich background in Music and the Arts.
Michael is a seasoned Music teacher with extensive experience in the European Music Industry. He has shared Television Stages with renowned acts such as Abba, the Fortunes, Samantha Jones and many others across Europe. He has also recorded in prestigious studios, including the famous Wisseloord Studios.
During a tour Michael met his wife, Els and they soon decided to perform and work together. They made lots of CDs, Did TV shows and performances.
They decided to start a Music and Art School on Vancouver Island. Michael teaches, Voice, Guitar, Uke, Drums, Keyboards and Art.
Els is a master of Paper Art and Scrapbooking techniques and her crafmanship has earned a strong reputation on Vancouver Island. She is highly valued by her students, and clients know they can rely on her for unique, handcrafted creations that bring a sense of magic to special occasions.
In addition to his musical expertise, Michael has developed his own "Dutch Master" techniques, inspired by the classical Dutch artistry, whis he shares with his dedicated students. Many continue to follow and learn from him throughout his time on Vancouver Island. And Michael produces since 10 years the Famous TV show : Painting the Island with Michael Schutte for Rogers/Shaw Television, channel 105.
Today, Michael and Els run their studios in Qualicum Beach where they warmly welcome students and visitors to experience their creative world in Music and Art.
